TOYA Polish Junior a WJGS Event

The first round at the TOYA Golf & Country Club started in the morning with warm and dry weather with afternoon rain, followed by sunshine and high humidity late in the competition. The conditons of the golf course for tournament play were excellent. Among 61 junior participants, 20 Polish players had the opportunity to compete against a strong international field of 12 countries.

Chanarojnarong Wattanakul of Thailand leads the boys field with 4 under par. Second place are Mateusz Gradecki of Toya Golf & Country Club in Poland and Tawan Phongphun of Thailand positioned at 2 under par.

The hosting national team notables from Poland are Adrian Meronk (3rd in Kenako South African World Junior) even par 72, Peter Ragankiewicz one over par 73, Jedrzej Gasienica Ciulacz two over par 74, Jan Szmidt three over par 75, Piotr Swiackiewiecz five over par 77, Tomasz Gajewski seven under par 79, and Michal Karczmarczyk eight under par 80.

Notable, Armandt Scholtz (Kenako South African World Junior Champion), finished his first day with 6 over par 78.

Leonie Harm from Germany and Wanchana Poruangrong from Thailand lead the girls field with one over par 73. Linda Dobele of Latvia trails the leader by one with a score of 74. Leading the girls from Poland team are Katarzyna Selwent of Kalnowe Pole GC at 3 over, Dominka Gradecka Toya Golf & CC 7 over 79, and Karolina Schneider 8 over 80.
