Top Juniors head for the Western Cape

Local girls, Carla Gorlei, Kelly Erasmus, Sammy Barber and Ji Sun Kang will be joined by Mae Cornforth, Bianca Theron, Michaela Fletcher and Courtney Morris among others vying for the top honours in the first two junior tournaments of the year.

To date 27 girls from other provinces will be travelling to Cape Town before returning to school after the Christmas break. The Boland tournament will be held at Kuilsriver Golf Club on 10 and 11 January followed on 13 January by the Western Province tournament, sponsored by WP Nomads. This year the WP Nomads Junior Championship will be played at the challenging Metropolitan course nestled under the Cape Town stadium and only one road away from the ocean.

Number one on the WGSA Junior Player Rankings, Lara Weinstein, moves off the rankings because of her age and with only 3 points separating Cara Gorlei (Western Province) and Bianca Theron (Boland), these two junior championships should provide an exciting start to the WGSA calendar year.
