Three way race for title at SA U-19 IPT
The three-way battle for A-Division glory between Western Province, Central Gauteng and Ekurhuleni will hinge on the Singles, while Kwazulu-Natal is still highly competitive in their final round tussle against Eastern Province, despite having wrapped up the promotion battle in the third round of 2014 South African U-19 Inter-Provincial at Krugersdorp Golf Club.
Western Province took a two point lead into the final round against Central Gauteng, but the defending champions are in the driver’s seat after winning the Foursome 2.5 – 1.5.
At the end of round four, Western Province led with eight points and Ekurhuleni and Central Gauteng had six points each.
Ekurhuleni needs to win by at least 9.5 points to win, providing Central Gauteng beats Province, and the team made a strong start by coming back in three matches to defeat Southern Cape 3 – 1 in the Foursomes.
In the relegation battle, Gauteng North threw down the gauntlet against Limpopo to win three games.
In the B-Division, KwaZulu-Natal is tied 2-all with Eastern Province, Boland beat North West 3 – 1 and Free State scored a clean sweep against Border.
