Sun City ready to host the 12th World University Golf Championship
Ninety six of the best golfers from universities all over the world will be teeing it up over the period 2-5 September, 2008 competing for the title of World University Golf Champion. Eighteen countries have entered for this showpiece organised by University Sport South Africa. These are Belgium, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Afric, Swden, Switzerland and the United States of America.
Pictured on above is the eighteenth hole (normally the ninth) which will supply enough drama during the tournament as it requires a long section shot to those who dare or a precision approach for those laying up.
Four big screen displays will be tracking all latest results, draws and logs. Computerized scoring will provide immediate updates as the scores of individual players are entered. Displays of team results, positions as well as individual results will all be immediately available.
The Gary Player course has long been rated as best in South Africa. It is always in pristine condition with wonderfully spectacular holes testing accuracy and shotmaking all along.
