Stone, Lange impress in their first weeks in NCAA golf tournaments

Brandon Stone, a former SA number one amateur golfer, and Victor Lange of Royal Johannesburg & Kensington , who left SA sits both impressed their coaches in their first weeks playing for their respective colleges.

Victor Lange who will be studying at LA Tech for the next few years, finished with a round of 70 at Hattiesburg Country Club in Southern Mississippi to win at the 2012 Sam Hall Intercollegiate Tournament on a 54 hole score of 205 (8 under).

While Victor Lange was winning in Mississippi, Brandon Stone was lifting the individual trophy in the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Georgia. Stone, who replaced Dylan Frittelli when he graduated from the University of Texas in June, opened with a 69 (3 under) and followed that up with a very impressive 63 which when added to a solid last round 72 left him two shots in front of TJ Mitchell, of Georgia Tech, who finished in second place.

Both players got off to an ideal start and lets hope their run of form continues as they continue to carry the South Africa flag.
