South Africa Finish 5th

South Africans Tyrone Ferreira, 70, and Louis de Jager, 74, recorded a final round of 144, two over par, to finish 5th on 583, fifteen over par, in the International Team Competition of the 36th annual Copa Juan Carlos Tailhade.
The amateur 72 hole golf tournament was played at the Los Lagartos Country Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Australia, who dominated from the beginning, won the team competition handsomely, by twelve shots. Rohan Blizard, 74, and Tim Stewart, 71, recorded a final round of 145, to finish with a 72 hole total of 568, level par. England, made up of Sam Hutsby (70) and Chris Wood (71) recorded a 141, one under par, to record the best team score for the final round. This moved them up the leader board to 2nd place, one shot clear of Spain, with a 72 hole total of 580, twelve over par.
“Neither player was able to consolidate their game today,” said South African team manager and President of the South African Golf Association Neale Kunhardt. “Louis was five over par with four holes to play. He managed to birdie two of the last four holes. Meanwhile Tyrone, got to three under par, however he double bogeyed the par 3 13th hole.”
The Australians also dominated the individual competition. 23 year old Rohan Blizard finished on top of the leader board with a 72 hole total of 279, five under par, being the only player to finish under par. He was followed, five shots off the pace, by fellow Australian Justin Roach, who was competing in the individual competition only. Blizard’s playing partner was Tim Stewart, he finished 6th tie on 289. Tyrone Ferreira was the best performing South African he finished 8th tie on 290, six over par, three shots clear of his team mate Louis de Jager.
