Scots sweep inaugural African Amateur Team Competition
Birthday boy Jack McDonald and compatriots Connor Syme and Grant Forrest combined for a superb final round 207 to win the inaugural Team Competition in the African Amateur Stroke Play Championship on Friday.
McDonald from Kilmarnock Barassie anchored the side with a sweet 66 at Leopard Creek Golf Estate, while Syme added 70 and Forrest 71 to carry the side to an eight stroke victory on 639.
The South African Senior team finished in a tie for second on 647 with France, while the RSA Juniors took fourth on 650.
