SAGA Launches New Official Website

The South African Golf Association launched its redesigned official website on Wednesday 28th August 2013.

The new, user-friendly portal is easy to navigate and offers members and golf fans from South Africa and around the globe effortless access to the latest amateur golf news, tournament information, results, statistics, rankings etc.

Certain features of the new site will be enhanced in phases, including the rankings, however visitors can now navigate directly to one joint tournament schedule for all age categories. Visitors to the site will also have the option to sort tournaments into Open Amateurs, Juniors, Mid-Amateurs or Seniors schedules, if need be. All tournament information will be found in one place, including entry forms, tournament conditions, entry lists, draws and results.

Among the features new to the home page are i-frames for Live Scoring, Top-10 Rankings and a Notice Board.

The Notice Board will reflect news and links to, among others, international amateur events, announcements around local and international events, the broadcast times for television highlights packages of the SAGA’s flagship events and links to profile pieces on the leading players.

One of the other major changes to the website is the Open Amateur Rankings which is now calculated slightly differently and is now managed by the same people that manage the Handicaps Network Africa system. This will help us to integrate players to the rankings more accurately and in time will also help us develop a “Tournament Handicap” which we will call the Players Index.

We trust that you enjoy navigating the new SAGA website.
