O’Reilly rallies for Southern Cape lead

Atlantic Beach amateur Carlo O’Reilly fired two successive 67s to take pole position in the Southern Cape Open at Knysna Golf Club on Saturday.
Can the Western Province amateur protect his three-stroke lead at 10-under-par 134 in the 36-hole final round or will Southern Cape’s Jacques Cloete or Province’s Luke Trocado reel him in?
Cloete from Riversdale returned rounds of 67 and 70, while fellow Atlantic Beach player Trocado followed a blistering 66 with a 71.
Reigning Western Province Amateur champion Andre Nel joined the bus at six under with two 69s.
The Southern Cape golfer is tied for fourth with Daren de Smidt from Central Gauteng, Western Province’s Michael Sherriff and Albert Venter from Gauteng North.
