Naidoo back to winning ways at Dr Bam

Reigning Nomads SA Boys U-19 Stroke Play champion Dylan Naidoo made a superb start to the 2016 season when he claimed a five stroke victory in the prestigious Nomads Dr Bam at Benoni Country Club on Friday.

On opening 70 left the Modderfontein golfer lagging three strokes behind Reece Haikney from Randpark, but Naidoo made short work of the deficit in round two.

Naidoo reeled in half-a-dozen birdies and an eagle-three on his way to a five-under-par 67 and carried a three stroke lead over Haikney into the final round.

The Central Gauteng player mixed six birdies with two bogeys for a final round four under 68 to triumph on 11-under-par 205 in his first start this season.

Current number one ranked junior Ross Sinclair from Gauteng North carded rounds of 70, 72 and 68 to grab the runner-up spot, while Ernie Els and Fancourt Foundation member Keelan van Wyk from Central Gauteng closed with a 67 to vault to third on 214.
