Mpumalanga motors ahead at Indwe SA Senior IPT
Mpumalanga strengthened their claim for promotion in the 2016 INDWE SA Senior Amateur Inter-Provincial with a 9.5 – 2.5 result against Limpopo, while Boland defeated Free State 7 – 5 on day two at Killarney Country Club.
Mpumalanga won three of their foursomes games to take a healthy 3 – 1 lead into the singles.
Sarel van Heerden, Kobus Clarence, Gavin Light, Andre Basson, Brian Naidoo and Steve Smit collected points for Mpumalanga, while Sakkie de Lange added another half point when he halved with Len Olley.
Mpumalanga’s only loss came at the hands of Malebana Pataki, who defeated Steve Cullen 3 & 1.
The victory lifted Mpumalanga to the top of the standings on four points and they have a two point lead over Boland and Northern Cape.
Super Seniors
North West and Eastern Province enjoyed the spoils on day two. North West thumped Limpopo to score a clean sweep, while Eastern Province defeated Northern Cape 5 – 1.
Eastern Province edged into the lead in the standings on two points and 6.5 games points, but North West is a close second with two points and 6 games points.
