The greens were a bit tricky having been overseeded in intervals, which resulted in different green speeds. The par of the Bloemfontein course is 72 with a course rating of 71.
Local favourite Lumien Orton, with rounds of 77, 77, 73 (227) won the closed championship, two strokes ahead of Merition Sandys, while Connie Chen claimed the Nomads Junior Championship. Gauteng’s Lara Weinstein was runner-up in this section.
Michelle Allers, also a Gauteng North player, scored 248 to win the 10 – 18 Division Championship with Hannalie Beukes one shot back on 249.
At the Annual General meeting held during the Championship, well know Free State player Carina Theron was elected President, following Marilyn McCallum whose term of office now comes to an end.
