Malaysian Ladies Executive visits South Africa
24 Lovely Malaysian ladies, including two members of the Malaysian Royal family, are enjoying a golfing holiday in the Western Cape thanks to a meeting Erica Lefson had in Malaysia earlier this year with Her Highness Princess Tunku Tuanku Ja’Afar, President of the Malaysian Ladies Golf Union.
Princess Tunku is accompanied by The Executive Director of the Malaysian Ladies Golf Union, Rabe Abbas (left) and Committee member Wan Wan Farid (right), all seen here with WGSA Secretary Paddy Goodwin.
Teeing off at Paarl Golf Club today at 09h00 before the wind came up, the ladies really loved the course and also the dry sunny weather. Malaysia and its surrounds have hot, humid and overcast conditions for most of the year so the sunny, dry and warm weather on a course surrounded by beautiful mountains was exactly what they came to experience in South Africa.
The group will play in the ladies competitions at Rondebosch tomorrow, Tuesday, and on Thursday at Steenberg. They will enjoy their final round at de Zalze on Sunday.
Most of the group live in Kuala Lumpur although five are from Borneo, also part of Malaysia. Three non-golfing ladies from Singapore enjoyed a helicopter flight over Cape Town and the Winelands while their friends played golf at Paarl today.
