Lombard & Frittelli impress Down Under!

Two of the South African Golf Association’s former number one ranked amateurs are dominating on Australia’s Gold Coast!
On a day where the wind lashed the RACV Royal Pines Resort at more than 70km/h, Zander Lombard kept his head down and fired a flawless opening 67 to surge to the lead in the Australian PGA Championship.
The 20-year-old former GNGU – Gauteng North Golf Union member finished two strokes clear of England’s Mark Foster and three ahead of fellow South African Dylan Frittelli.
On day two, Lombard reversed four bogeys with a quartet of gains, but a triple bogey seven at 13 saw him sign for a 75.
The Sunshine Tour rookie finished at two under and shares the six-way tie in second with Frittelli, who followed an opening 70 with a 72. Swede David Lingmerth will start the third third round with a one shot lead at three under after returning rounds of 73 and 68.
