Lightning interferes at Indwe SA Senior Stroke Play
The final round of the Indwe Risk Services SA Senior Amateur Stroke Play Championship is on ice after a lightning storm forced the A-Section field off the course late on Friday afternoon.
The siren sounded as strikes were measured within five kilometers of Pecanwood Country Club.
Mellette Hendrikse, the champion in 2012, leads at seven under and had reached the 16th green when play was suspended.
Fellow Gauteng North golfer, Christ Delport, is two behind and three-time champion, Jock Wellington, is three under par.
With the storm moving west, play is expected to resume within the hour.
