Lejan enjoying her college golf in the USA
WGSA received this email from Lejan Lewthwaite, currently studying at Texas State
I cant believe how much time has passed since my last email. I have since played in another three events and would like to tell you all about them.
On the 16-18 October our team traveled to Norman, Oklahoma for the Suzie Maxwell Invitational at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course. Although only set up to 6327 yards = 5785 meters, the course was tricky. Despite the weather conditions freshening up, our team finished in tied ninth and I claimed a top 15 finish with scores of 74, 73, 76. Our next tournament was the Alamo Invitational, in San Antonio Texas, our team finished 7th and I, after not having such a great week, finished 60th with scores of 84, 78, 72. Although it was a tough week, I managed to finish well and contribute to our combined team score of four over for our final round.
Our last tournament for the season was played and hosted by our home course at Onion Creek, Austin, Texas. Our team finished fifth and I managed a 10th place overall with scores of 71, 73, 77.
I am also glad to say that I earned another Conference player of the month for October. Here is the link with all the details: http://www.southland.org/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=90006&SPID=10809&temp_site=NO&ATCLID=205322871&DB_OEM_ID=18400
I look forward to my next season here as a Texas State Bobcat golfer. We have a couple of exciting tournaments next spring and can’t wait to tell you all about them. I will be back in SA for Christmas on 17 December and return to Texas on 16 January 2012. Hope all is well back home and that you and the rest of Women’s Golf are raking up all the birdies.
Kind Regards
Lejan Lewthwaite
