Last year’s double champion, Nobuhle Dlamini, travels East to defend her Title

The 44th Annual Eastern Cape Championship kicks off on Monday 11 February at the prestigious links, Humewood Golf Club. With a forecast of easterly winds, typical at this time of the year, the course will throw out many challenges not often faced by girls from the inland areas of South Africa.

Leading the pack vying for top honours in the first senior Provincial Championship of 2013 is WGSA’s number one ranked player, Gauteng North’s Nobuhle Dlamini. Nobuhle, who won both the Stroke and Match Play trophies at last year’s Championship will be joined by among others, Gauteng player Talia Nel, Nicole Garcia from Ekurhuleni, Western Province players Amy Henning and the on form Ji Sun Kang and Mpumalanga’s Monja Richards. Hot on their heels and wishing to prove their mettle against the more senior players will be seven of the top eight WGSA Junior Ranked players.
