Top-ranked Kim Williams won the Western Province match play championship played at King David Country Club this week when she defeated Kempton Park junior Talia Nel at the 17th to win 2/1.

On her way to the final which was played in a strong south easter, Kim picked up wins from Nicole Carlse 4/3, Tiffany Avern-Taplin 2 up and Connie Chen 5/4.

Talia Nel who turns 17 at the end of March, defeated Jenna Schonfeld 1 up, Pam Hayward 3/2 and the stroke play champion, Bonita Bredenhann 4/3.
