Kim tops SA Ranking

2009 has proved to be a great year for Centurion’s Kim Williams. Her stroke play championship trophy cabinet includes silverware from North West, KZN, Gauteng and Southern Cape, and she was runner-up in the SA Amateur Championship, and the Free State and Limpopo Championships. She also picked up the KZN Match Play Trophy.

This month, Kim leads her Gauteng North Daisies to defend the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship to to be played at Paarl Golf Club from 13 to 18 September. The Daisies, with Kim at the helm, won the event in 2008 at Umhlali and in 2007 at Clovelly.

Her travels begin after the Inter-Provincial, when she, Ashleigh Holmes, Yvette du Plessis, Johan Bekker and Coenie Bester travel to play in the Turkish Amateur Open Championship. This event, won by Ashleigh Holmes in 2008, takes place at the Gloria Golf Club in Antalya from 1 to 4 October.

The highlight of the year will be representing South Africa at The Spirit, an event staged every alternate year at Whispering Pines, Texas. This prestigious tournament will be played from 1 to 8 November and Kim will be accompained by Yvette du Plessis, Leon Knoll and Dylan Frattelli.
