Kelli continues good form ahead of WATC
Taking part in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf course in Norman, Oklahoma – Kelli managed rounds of 69 – 71 – 73 to finish in sole second place and in the process help Arkansas to their first win of the season.
The Razorbacks trailed host Oklahoma by five shots heading into the final round and played some great golf for the win. Kelli, starting her final round on the 10th struggled but pulled it back on the front (as she started on the 10th) nine pulling back two shots on the third and the ninth.
According to coach, Shauna Estes-Taylor, Kelli didn’t have her best stuff today but she was so clutch coming in, that’s what you want from your seniors.
Speaking to Kelli after the event, she was disappointed that the win did not come on this occasions, but is hell bent on going one step better in Knoxville.
Kelli has had a great end of the year, qualifying for both the US Women’s Open at Oakmont, where she lead for most of the first round and after a nervous second, made the cut, as well as, qualifying for the North West Arkansas P&G Beauty LPGA event, where unfortunately, missed the cut by 2.
As well as preparing for the Arkansas season, Kelli is also getting ready to represent South Africa for the first time in nearly four years at the World Team Amateurs later this year in Argentina.
