Jbe takes the lead

Jbe Kruger shot a best ot the day 66 to go with his first round 70 and take a 1 shot lead over fellow National team mate Toto Thimba into the final 36 holes at the Modderfontein Golf Club. Toto is joined in second place on 137 by George Coetzee, who has matched Toto with rounds of 67 and 70. The Central Gauteng duo of David Hewan and Steve Williams are tied fourth a further shot adrift. Michael van de Venter who shared the first round lead after a 67, shot level par 72 in the second round to be 3 adrift with the final 36 holes being played on Tuesday.

Recent SA Amateur Stroke Play Champion, Branden Grace, missed the half way cut by a single stroke after a dissapointing second round 79 to finish on 153 (+9).
