Hewan wins again
After 4 sub par rounds of 68 + 70 + 70 + 69, it took an extra 3 holes for David Hewan to win the Mpumalanga Open in a playoff from Louis de Jager (72 +67 + 68 + 70) after both players ended at 277 (-7).
David, who recently missed out on selection to the South African Eisenhower side, has now won two of his last 4 starts (one being the Berkshire Trophy) with the other two finishes being 4th and 6th places.
The Mpumalanga duo of Dandre Neumeyer and PG van Zyl finished 3 off the pace in a tie for 3rd spot.
George Coetzee, the Eisenhower reserve, shot the lowest round of the event, a 66 in the 3rd round.
