Gauteng North player dominates at home Junior Championship

Magda Kruger laid down her marker by winning the GNGU Junior Girls Open in superb style. Magda, who has just returned from participating in the Annika Invitational in the US, was playing in her first event on home soil in 2013. Services Golf Club hosted the tournament and although the morning started with a light drizzle, perfect weather prevailed for the rest of the day. After a level par first round, Magda came out for the afternoon round determined to lift the trophy. With an eagle on the 9th, five birdies and only one bogey, her gross 66 was unbeatable. In second place Bianca Lohbauer from Paarl Golf Club played steadily over the two rounds but could not catch Magda. Bianca finished on 147, closely followed by fellow Bolander Bianca Theron from Devonvale Golf Club on 149, and two shots behind her in 4th place was Mae Cornforth from Potchefstroom Golf Club on 151.

The winner of the B Division on 63 stableford points was Cleo Jordaan from Akasia Country Club.
