Frittelli progresses to the last 32 at the US Amateur

After a second round 66 in the qualifying round to get into the last 64 of the 111th US Amateur in Wisconsin, Dylan Frittelli made short work of his first round opponent as he defeated Jim Markovitz of Pennsylvania 5 and 4.

Frittelli opened with two birdies to take an early 2 up lead after two holes. He then faltered a little to be All Square after 8 holes. Frittelli won the 9th hole with a par and then proceeded to record 4 birdies in the last 5 holes to close out the match and progress to the second round of the Match Play.

The 2011 Sanlam SA Amateur Champion, Michael Stewart of Scotland, also progressed to the first round of the Match Play and at time of writing his match stood at 1 down after 2 holes.
