Frittelli loses to 2010 US Amateur Champion in round of 32 in 2011 US Amateur

Dylan Frittelli’s got eliminated from the US Amateur in the round of 32 players when he came up against Peter Uihlein. Frittellli who played solid golf in the second round of the qualifying stroke play, to record a 66, and in the first round of the match play, didnt produce his best golf when he came up against the defending US Amateur Champion.

Frittelli came out the blocks with a birdie on the first hole to win the hole but he gave it straight back with a bogey on the second hole. The two players then swtiched holes again over the next two holes with Fritelli winning the third hole with a par and then losing the next hole when he recorded a double bogey.

After six holes the match was all square but from here on out the 2010 US Amateur Champion, Peter Uihlein, took command of the match as he recorded 3 birdies and 5 pars to Frittelli’s 3 bogeys, 1 double bogey and a solitary birdie which resulted in a 5 and 4 victory for Uihlein.

2011 Sanlam SA Amateur Champion, Michael Stewart, got eilimnated in the first round of the match play when he was defeated 5 and 3 by Justin Thomas of Kentucky. Stewart recorded 2 birdies, 2 bogeys, 1 double bogey and 10 pars in his match which wasnt good enough on the day.
