Frederico takes the half way lead

Mastering the high tempretures and blustery conditions, Frederico Colombo of Italy shot rounds of 69 and 66 for a two round total of 135 (-9) and a 1 shot lead over Edward Richardson. Not only does Frederico take the half way stage lead put also wins the Proudfoot Trophy as the 36 hole leader of the SA Amateur.

With 9 of the top 14 golfers being Internationals, the South Africans will battle to retain the SA Amateur Stroke play title. Two of South Africas national team members and top players Charl Coetzee and Norman Raad fell foul of the half way cut and South Africas hopes are now pinned on the shoulder of the leading South Africans Jbe Kruger, Branden Grace and Johan du Buisson who trail the halfway leader by 4 shots.
