Ford replaces Frittelli in SA Team

Adrian FordDylan Frittelli has withdrawn from the Protea Team to play France and has been replaced by Adrian Ford, the South African Golf Association (SAGA) announced.

“Adrian has been in good form of late and will be more than a capable replacement for Dylan,” said team manager and senior vice president of the SAGA, Enver Hassen.

Ford, who plays his golf out of Durbanville Golf Club, and is also a member of the Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation, is currently ranked 3rd on the latest SAGA Player Rankings.

Speaking from Pretoria, Frittelli said that he decided to withdraw as he was committed to writing a Natural Sciences exam paper at the end of this month. “I plan to take up a golf scholarship at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas in August this year. For my application to be considered I am compelled to write this exam,” said the disappointed No.1 ranked player on the SAGA Player Rankings.

The Protea Team play France at the Chantilly Golf Club, north of Paris, on 28th and 29th May 2008.

Other players in the team announced recently are Jacques Blaauw (Boland), Ryan Clarke (Central Gauteng) and Derek Ferreira (Gauteng North).
