Fillipi and Loubser lead the way on SpringDay

Luca Filippi and Herman Loubser will lead the South African challenge at the ninth Reply Italian International Under-16 Championship in Biella, Italy on Tuesday.

Filippi and Loubser are among the early starters , while Wilco Nienaber and Luke Mayo will join the afternoon field oat the Golf Club Biella.

The players had their second practice round on Monday and declared themselves ready for the challenge ahead.

“The guys are quietly confident and each knows both what is expected of them, but also that the opportunities and decisions now lie with them,” said South African Golf Association Golf Intergration Manager Eden Thompson.

“The course played a lot firmer and faster on Monday than the weekend, and with the hot weather expected, I think it will just get quicker. There are thunder showers expected in the afternoon on Tuesday, but hopefully it won’t adversely affect the late starters.”
