Daisies walk away with the Swiss Team Trophy at Graceland
The Daisies walked away with the Swiss Team 72 Hole Teams Championship Trophy which they won by a margin of 23 strokes from Western Province Waves on 598 at Gracelands today. The team included the top three individual finishers, Connie Chen on two under 286 (75, 73, 69, 69), Kim Williams 293 (76, 72, 72, 73) and Henriette Frylinck 295 (77, 77, 69, 72).
Connie Chen finished on a high with two three-under par 69s and won the Individual event by seven strokes from top-ranked Kim Williams. Hentriëtte Frylinck and Free States Lumien Orton finished tied third on 295.
The home team Mpumalanga also enjoyed a convincing win in the B Division Challenge Trophy, finishing on 591, 32 strokes ahead of the SA Invitation team which included former SA Match Play Champion, Nobuhle Dlamini (Swaziland), Bhavi Shah (Kenya) and Madina Hussein (Tanzania) on 623. The star of the Mpumalanga team was Alana van Greuning who finished fifth on the individual leader-board on 297 (75, 71, 78, 73).
Border’s Millie Zim aced her tee-shot at the par-three ninth in Round 3, her fifth hole in one and second at WGSA National tournaments.
