Christine Dempers join the WGSA Executive

As we enter 2012, Women’s Golf South Africa welcomes incoming secretary Christine Dempers to the executive.

With her previous experience as a PGA teaching professional, in golf club and resort management, media publishing, websites, public relations, event management and communications, Christine has strong administrative skills and with her a passion for the game, and is ideally suited to the position of WGSA secretary.

Previously from Johannesburg, Grahamstown and KwaZulu Natal where she managed Kloof Country Club, Christine was well know to many golfers as Christine Iliadis. She now lives in the Gardens in Cape Town.

Asked what her bucket list is, Christine replied, “I would like to play golf in Scotland, Ireland and the USA, attend cooking school in Thailand and Vietnam, drive overland to Kenya, travel to the Antarctic, learn ceramics and become an artist, create herb gardens, attend the Ryder Cup British Open and Evian Masters, meet Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa and visit a movie set to see the ‘how’”. Your editor is not sure she will be able to fulfill her bucket list on a WGSA secretary’s salary!!

Like the new tournament administrator Tracey Wilson, Christine is bubbly, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic, and WGSA can only go from strength to strength with these two ladies in the administration.
