Central, Southern Cape on the attack at SA IPT

DOWERGLEN, 23 September 2015 – Central Gauteng has the early advantage against neighbouring Ekurhuleni, Southern Cape is up on Western Province and Boland is in the driver’s seat against Eastern Province after the morning foursomes on day three at the 55th South African Inter-Provincial, sponsored by Tempest, at Glendower Golf Club on Wednesday.

CENTRAL GAUTENG 3 – EKURHULENI 1
The defending champions took three wins in the Morning Foursomes and will start the Singles with a nice two point cushion.

Matthew Spacey and Andi Dill defeated Sentanio Minnie and Dylan Mostert 4 & 3, while Jason Viljoen and Basil Wright downed Rowan du Preez and Ernest Botha 3 & 2 to take the first two games.

Angus Ellis-Cole and Kyle McClatchie hit back to eliminate Ryan Dreyer and Darin de Smidt 4 & 3, but Central’s Marco Steyn and David Meyers rallied to clinch the final game against Paul Boshoff and Teagan Moore at the final hole.

SOUTHERN CAPE 3 – WESTERN PROVINCE 1
Southern Cape won two games and halve the others to edge 3 – 1 ahead against Province

Jovan Rebula and Cameron Moralee triumphed 5 & 4, while Nicholas Mitchell and Heinrich Frylinck took down Gerlou Roux and Carlo O’Reilly 4 & 2.

Ivan Williams and Franklink Manchest halved against Drew Denyer and Werner Theart and Andre Nel partnered Jade Buitendag to Southern Cape’s other halve.

BOLAND 3 – EASTERN PROVINCE 1
After first and second round losses, Pierre de Villiers and Karl Ocshe turned the tide for Boland and claimed the first scalp with a 3 & 2 result to put the team in the early lead against EP.

Herman Loubser and Armandt Scholtz took their second win and Daniel Mantel and Johan Germishuys made it three for Boland when they defeated Naldo Claassen and Sieg Human at the 18th hole.

Pieter Rademeyer and Jacques Smith prevented Boland from scoring a clean sweep when they defeated Philip Spies and Henri van Waart 4 & 3.
