Blair wins US Collegiate Tournament
Darren Blair, playing for the University of North Carolina, won the Bank of Tennessee @ The Ridges on Saturday, five shots clear of the field. He recorded a 54 hole total of 210, six under par, the only player to go under par in each of the three rounds.
The event was played at the Ridges Golf and Country Club, Jonesborough in Tennessee.
The Johannesburg resident, who is on a golf scholarship, recorded his first win on the US Collegiate circuit. He had rounds of 71,69 and 70. Blair is currently in his third year of his scholarship.
He and his fellow team mates finished 4th in the team competition.
Blair climbs 219 places, on the latest R&A World Amateur Golf Rankings, to 189 as a result of this performance.
