Bertine leads by four strokes at the halfway stage

17 year-old junior, Bertine Strauss scored birdies on holes 1, 8, 12, 15 and 17 but dropped at the par three 10th to go four strokes ahead of Iliska Verwey who scored a three-under 70 to finish on 147 for the 36 holes. Verwey’s birdies came at 2, 3, 4 and 16 with a drop at the par four 8th hole.

Boland’s Chloe Garner moved up the leader board to sixth position after her 69, picking up shots at 5,6, 9 and 13. Henriette Frylinck and Bonita Bredanhann, in joint third position on 149, scored level par 73s, while Kim Williams is one stroke back on 150. Overnight joint leader Yvette du Plessis started with a disasterous 10 at the par five 1st hole, to finish on 159, 13 over par.

The third round is being played this afternoon with the final round on tomorrow morning, Wednesday 27 May.
