Ashleigh Holmes to defend her Turkish Open Amateur Championship

After South Africa’s sccessful participation in the Turkish Open Amateur championship in 2008, Women’s Golf South Africa have selected three women to participate in 2009 and the South African Golf Association will be sending two men to play in the Men’s Championship. The team will be accompanied by WGSA President Erica Lefson.

Kim Williams, Yvette du Plessis, Coenie Bester and Johan Bekker will join Ashleigh when she defends her Turkish Open Amateur championship at the Gloria Golf Club, Antalya from 1 to 4 October this year.

The championship is played over four rounds of 18 holes each and 100 international players (70 men and 30 ladies) and 20 Turkish national competitors are eligible to compete. There will be a 36 hole cut in the case of more than 70 competitors only in the men’s category.
