SA juniors make Girl’s British Amateur Match Play
South Africa’s Africa Kaleigh Telfer and Ivanna Samu both cleared the finishing line in the Girl’s British Amateur Championship Qualifier to reach the Match Play stage, which tees off at West Kilbride Golf Club in Scotland on Wednesday.
SA pair make solid start in Scotland
Kaleigh Telfer used a driver to putt her way over the last six holes at West Kilbride Golf Club to an even-par 73 to finish one stroke behind compatriot Ivanna Samu in the first round of the Girl’s British Open Amateur Championship Qualifier in Scotland on Sunday.
Minnie marches to Africa Junior Open victory
Sentanio Minnie held off a spirited challenge from Gauteng North’s Dylan Mostert to claim his first national title with an eight stroke victory in the Africa Junior Open on Sunday.
The 17-year-old Ekurhuleni junior carded rounds of 73, 74 and 73 to triumph on four-over-par 220.

Sentanio Minnie produced a thrilling second round comeback to edge ahead of joint overnight leader Allan Lones in the inaugural Africa Junior Open at Fish River Sun Country Club on Sunday.
The 17-year-old Ekurhuleni junior overcame a rough start to sign for a 74 and will carry a two stroke lead over Lones into the final round after the Southern Cape closed with a 76.
Son seals top 20 in Germany
South Africa’s Woo-Ju Son closed out a top 20 finish in the RB German Junior while compatriot Altin van der Merwe finished second in the Boys Division of the Global Junior Golf Tour event in Germany on Thursday.

TuksSport High School launched their bid for a third victory in the South African High School Championship with solid first round 219, but the defending champions will have pull out the stops to overhaul Waterkloof High School to celebrate on Friday. The 2012 champions opened with an even-par 216 at Irene Country Club, courtesy of Estiaan Conradie (71), JP Cooper (72) and Eric Nel (73), and will carry a three stroke lead into the final round of the prestigious annual team competition.

South Africa’s Ivanna Samu tied for 21 in the Annika Invitational Europe, fellow Gauteng golfer Kaleigh Telfer finished joint 37th and2014 runner-up, Ana Pelaez of Spain, claimed a three stroke victory as action wrapped up at Bro-Bålsta GolfKlubb on Thursday.
Tough day for SA quartet in Europe
It was day of struggles, tough conditions and frustration for the four South African juniors competing in international championships in Sweden and Germany on Wednesday. Ivanna Samu traded places with compatriot Kaleigh Telfer at the Annika Invitational Europe, while Woo-Ju Son slipped and Danielle du Toit continued to battle in the RB German Junior.

He was bitterly disappointed with his opening gambit, but South Africa’s Altin van der Merwe is smiling after round two action wrapped in the RB German Junior on Wednesday.
Van der Merwe vaulted to third at three over 147 and lags just two strokes off the pace at GolfClub Heidelberg.

South Africa’s number one ranked Ivanna Samu and number two Kaleigh Telfer are relishing their debut in the fourth edition of the Annika Invitational Europe, which tees off at Bro-Bålsta Golf Club on Tuesday, 4 August.
The South African pair arrived in Sweden on the weekend and had a good look at the home course of tournament host and World Golf Hall of Fame member Annika Sorenstam during the Junior Am on Monday.
