Hennie du Plessis dispatched unheralded Herman Loubser in the semi-final of the Nomads SA Boys U-19 Match Play Championship to reach the 36-hole final at Umhlali Country Club on Friday.
Du Plessis beat the youngster 6 & 4 and will go up against Paul Boshoff from Ekurhuleni, who claimed the biggest scalp of the championship when he downed South African’s number one ranked junior, Jovan Rebula, in the quarter-finals.

Ekurhuleni’s Tristen Strydom replaced first round leader Altin van der Merwe in pole position at the Nomads SA Boys U-19 Championship in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old from Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate took advantage of the early morning breeze at Umhlali Country Club to navigate his way to a three-under-par 68 and lunged to the top of the leaderboard on three under 139.
WGSA pays tribute to Williams
Kim Williams was presented with the 2013 Amateur of the Year award at the 22nd annual Compleat Golfer Annual Awards ceremony, held at Country Club Johannesburg on Monday, 31 March.
The occasion marked the third time that Womens Golf South Africa named Williams as the most outstanding amateur for a season and she joined the illustrious company of Ashleigh Simon, the only other amateur who has lifted the award multiple times.
Van der Merwe leads Nomads SA Boys
Altin van der Merwe carded an opening two-under-par 69 at Umhlali Country Club to hit the front at the Nomads SA Boys U-19 Championship in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday. The Western Province number finished one shot clear of fellow Province golfer, Luca Filippi, and German junior, Michael Pfeifer.
