Jean Hugo is a celebrated figure in the pro circles, but this week, the 14-time Sunshine Tour winner is happy to roll back the years alongside former professional Leonard Loxton at the South African Stroke Play Championship.

Brandon Stone got his South African Stroke Play Championship campaign off to a spirited start when he charged to the head of affairs at Glendower Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

Stroke play champion Nobuhle Dlamini picked up the double at the Eastern Cape championship today when she played an unbelievable shot from under trees to eagle the 19^th hole at Port Elizabeth Golf Club and defeat Southern Cape’s Nicole Loesch in the match play final.

Brandon Stone brought a solid short game to Glendower Golf Club and made it count, firing a near flawless six-under-par 66 on Tuesday to take the early first round lead of the South African Stroke Play Championship.

Former SA Match Play Champion Nobuhle Dlamini carded a six under par 140 to win the Eastern Cape Stroke Play Championship by seven strokes from Nicole Loesch and Boland junior Bianca Theron in Port Elizabeth on Sunday 5 February.

When Glendower Golf Club hosts the South African Stroke Play Championship from 7-10 February, it will be exactly 25 years since the prestigious course last saw such top amateur action.
