North West girls grit their teeth for final round against the Daisies
For the fourth year in a row, North West face neighbours Gauteng North on the final day of the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial championships being played at the beautiful Irene Country Club in Pretoria. The course is in great condition and with perfect weather and magnificent old trees a feature of the course, it is a perfect venue for WGSA to celebrate its 50th Inter Provincial.
KZN only manage half a point against rampant Daisies
Gauteng North Daisies, led my a very motivated Kim Williams, trounced a strong KZN side in the first round of the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial match play championship, conceding only half a point when Connie Chen halved her match with Tanica van As.
Newcomer joins Kim at the top of the Leaderboard
19-year old Leján Lewthwaite, playing in her first Inter-Provincial, carded a great 73 to join Protea Kim Williams at the top of the leader-board in the qualifying round played today at Irene Country Club
Kelli continues good form ahead of WATC
Taking part in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf course in Norman, Oklahoma – Kelli managed rounds of 69 – 71 – 73 to finish in sole second place and in the process help Arkansas to their first win of the season.
Western Province wins 50th SA Inter Provincial
Western Province was in ascendancy once more as they claimed the 50th South African Inter Provincial at Pretoria Country Club on Friday. The 2008 champions mowed down Southern Cape 8½ - 3½ for their fifth successive win in this year’s tournament and collected their 16th victory in the annual team event.

SA ladies fall back in second round in Turkey
The three South African ladies fell back to 11th and T22nd positions after the second round of the Turkish Amateur Championships being played at Antlaya this week.
Colin Burger elected SAGA President
Colin Burger was elected the new president of the South African Golf Association (SAGA) at the Association's Annual General Meeting held in Pretoria on Wednesday night. Burger will take over from the current incumbent, Enver Hassen, as from Saturday 25 September 2010
Iliska tied in second place after round one in Turkey
South Africa's Iliska Verwey is tied in second place on even par 73 after the first round of the Turkish Open Amateur Championship being played at the Gloria (Old Course) at Antlaya this week.

KZN steps it up on day four at SA IPT
The Western Province lost a little ground when Kwazulu-Natal managed to dominate the foursomes on a tension-packed fourth day at the 50th South African Inter Provincials at Pretoria Country Club.

Lynn Slogrove wins SA Seniors Championship
Humewood and EP's Lynn Slogrove won the SA Senior Ladies Championships 2010 when the event was played at West Bank and East London golf clubs this week. The six-handicapped veteran carded 169 (83, 86) to pick up the trophy by one stroke from Langebaan's Sonja Kruger on 170 (89, 81).
The stableford event was won by Milnerton's Jo Elves with 72 points over the two rounds.
Big showdowns looming at SA IPT
While there are still three teams in it to win it in the A-Section, Eastern Province and Gauteng North continued to plot a course for an almighty showdown for promotion in the B-Section on Friday.

Free State set for titanic battle at SA IPT

Connie is girls’ runner-up at Duke of York
South Africa's Connie Chen tied 10th and was the second best girl on 228 (76, 81, 71) at the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy played at Royal St Georges Golf Club last week. The other South African participant, Brandon Stone finished T19 on 232.
Connie was selected to play in the event when she won the Nomads SA Girls Championships at Orkney earlier this year.
Favourites draw early blood at 50th SA Interprov
Central Gauteng threw down the gauntlet and made their intentions crystal clear with 10 splendid points on day one of the 50th South African Inter Provincial at Pretoria Country Club.
Team captain Ryan Dreyer, who led his team to a 4-0 whitewash in the foursomes and six victories in the singles against Free State and Northern Cape, said: “We didn’t come here to pick up where we left off last year. We came to win and the team delivered the kind of start I expected.

Defending champions KZN ready to challenge at 50th SA IPT
Defending champions Kwa-Zulu Natal are hunting an eighth title when the 50th edition of the South African Inter Provincial tees off at Pretoria Country Club from 20-24 September.
“We are as ready as can be expected,” said team captain Ryan de Beer. “I think we will surprise a lot of people who don’t rate us, just because the tournament is being played inland this year.

Women’s Inter-Provincial celebrates 50 years
The 50th Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial takes place at Irene Country Club from 26 September to 1 October and defending Champions Gauteng North Daisies will not be an easy team to beat on home soil.
