Lara leads the field at SA Girls
14 Year old Glendower star Lara Weinstein leads the field going into the final round of the SA Girls Champs, being played at Orkney Golf Club this week.
Bertine and Connie tie the lead at SA Girls
2008 Champion and runner-up, Bertine Strauss and Connie Chen lead the field after the first round of the 54 hole Nomads SA Girls Championships being played at Orkney Golf Club this week. Both players scored level par 72s.
Henriette Frylinck wins Gauteng North Match Play Championships
Gauteng North's Henriette Frylinck won her own provincial match play championship when she defeated stroke play champion Iliska Verwey 4/3 at Woodhill Country Club on Thursday 25 June.
Ashleigh Holmes to defend her Turkish Open Amateur Championship
Plettenberg Bay's Ashleigh Holmes is to be accompanied by Kim Williams, Yvette du Plessis and SAGA's Coenie Bester and Johan Bekker when she defends her Turkish Open Amateur championship at the Gloria Golf Club, Antalya in October this year.
Iliska Verwey is Gauteng North Stroke Play Champion
US College student Iliska Verwey, playing out of Cradock Golf Club, won the 36 hole Gauteng North stroke play championship at Woodhill Country Club today.
Record entry for Nomads SA Champs
A record 148 girls aged 18 and under will compete in the Nomads SA Girls' Championships being played at Orkney Golf Club from 28 to 30 June. The winner of the event will join the SA Boys' champion at the invitational Duke of York Trophy to be played at the Dundonald Links at Loch Lomond in Setember.
Younge to officiate at Open Championship
Bruce Younge, the Executive Director of the South African Golf Association (SAGA), has been invited, by the R&A, to officiate, as a Rules Official, in the 138th Open Championship which will be played over Turnberry's Ailsa layout starting on Thursday 16 July.
Too little too late for SA Juniors
A talented squad of four young players, representing the South African Junior Golf Foundation, finished 7th in the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, a 72 hole stroke play team competition, played at Chukyo Golf Club just outside the city of Nagoya, Japan.
Dreyer’s run ends in 4th Round
Ryan Dreyer beat Nigel Edwards in his 3rd round match this morning (Thursday) in the 114th Amateur Championship, being played at Formby Golf Club north of Liverpool. But he bowed out in the afternoon 4th Round, losing to Englishman Stiggy Hodgson in a closely contested match that went to the final hole.
Dreyer through to last 32
Ryan Dreyer, from Killarney Golf Club in Central Gauteng, won through to the last 32 in the match play stage of the 114th Amateur Championship today, which is being played at Formby Golf Club situated north of Liverpool, England.
Dreyer and Ford qualify for Amateur Match Play
Both Adrian Ford (74) and Ryan Dreyer (70) qualified for the match play stages of the 114th Amateur Championship on Tuesday. Of the eleven South Africans participating, Dreyer and Ford were the only players to successfully qualify.
SA Players struggle in Amateur Championship 1st Round
It was a bad day for most of the South Africans who teed up in today's first round of the 114th Amateur Championship. Only Adrian Ford, Derik Ferreira and Steven Ferreira appear to be in with a chance of qualifying for the match play which starts on Wednesday.

17 year-old Bertine Strauss picked up her fourth senior provincial championship trophy this year when she signed for a 141 (69,72) at he Limpopo Ladies Open played at Polokwane this weekend.
11 SA players tee up in 114th Amateur Championship
Eleven of South Africa's top amateur golfers tee up in the 114th Amateur Championship starting on Monday (15 June). Amateur golf's most prestigious championship is taking place over two golf courses, Formby and West Lancashire Golf Clubs, which are situated north of Liverpool, England.
Mareli and Gina to represent TUKS at Ingolstadt
Two Gauteng North golfers Mareli Joubert and Gina Switala are the first ladies to represent the University of Pretoria (TUKS)at the Student Match Play tournament to be played from 18 to 21 June in Ingolstadt in Germany.

Connie Chen wins at Parkview
17 year-old Connie Chen came home in only one over par 145 (72, 73) at Parkview today to win the 21 and under Gauteng Junior Golf Championship. Two strokes back was runner-up Johmari Logtenberg on 147 and Jenna Schonfeld was in third place on 149.
SA’s team runners-up in Jakarta
Thailands Jaruporn Palakavong won the play-off against South Africa's Bertine Strauss to win the Jakarta World Junior Championship and Thailand also picked up the team trophy leaving South Africa runners-up.
SA players perform well in Jakarta
As they go into the final round of the Jakarta World Junior Championship today, the South African team of Bertine Strauss and Lara Weinstein is in second place, 12 strokes behind Thailand. In the individual event Bertine is lying second having scored 73, 75, four shots behind the leader on 144 (70, 74). Swaziland's Nobuhle Dlamini is fourth and Namibia's Bonita Bredanhann who incurred six penalty strokes during the second round, is lying sixth. Lara is in fifth position in her B division on 81, 75.
