Sun City ready to host the 12th World University Golf Championship
Ninety six of the best golfers from universities all over the world will be teeing it up over the period 2-5 September, 2008 competing for the title of World University Golf Champion. Eighteen countries have entered for this showpiece organised by University Sport South Africa. These are Belgium, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Afric, Swden, Switzerland and the United States of America.
SAGA ANNOUNCES WATC TEAM
Jacques Blaauw, Dylan Frittelli and Cameron Johnston have been selected to represent South Africa in the Eisenhower Trophy at the World Amateur Teams Championship (WATC) being played in Adelaide, Australia from 16 to 19 October.
Seniors UK Tour
At the beginning of August, the South African Senior Amateur Golf Association sent a team of ten players to UK, to play an International against the UK Senior Amateur Golf Association, and to participate in the British Senior Amateur Championships.

Frittelli wins in Canada
Dylan Frittelli, the current South African Boys Under 18 champion, recorded a final round of 67, four under par, yesterday to finish with a 36 hole total of 135, seven under par, one shot clear of the rest of the field to record a magnificent win in the Barrett Amateur Championship.
Frittelli Second after 2nd Round cancellation
18 year old Dylan Frittelli, of Irene Country Club in Gauteng North, managed to finish his first round yesterday, in the 54 hole Barrett Amateur Championship being played in the town of St Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. He recorded two birdies on the back nine, to add to that he recorded a day earlier on the front, to finish on 68, three under par, and one shot off the pace.
WGSA WATC Team Announced
South African women's amateur golf team to defend it's title in the 2008 World Amateur Teams Championship (WATC), the Espirito Santo Trophy, from 8 to 11 October in Adelaide, Australia, was announced by Women's Golf South Africa (WGSA) President Erica Lefson today.
Blaauw and Frittelli in the Hunt
Both Jacques Blaauw and Dylan Frittelli are one under par after weather delayed day one of the 54 hole Barrett Amateur Championship stroke play which was played at the Algonquin Golf Course in St Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. This placed the two South Africans in sixth place tied along with two other players.
SA Amateurs look to impress selectors
Three of South Africa's top ranked amateur golfers, Dylan Frittelli (1), Jacques Blaauw (7) and Cameron Johnston (5), will tee up in the prestigious 54 hole Barrett Amateur, an international invitational stroke play tournament, which commences tomorrow, at the Algonquin Golf Course in St Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada, knowing that a good result could improve their chances of being selected to play for South Africa at the World Amateur Teams Championships (WATC) (Eisenhower Trophy).
