SA take Zone VI in dominant fashion
South Africa won the event with a total of 22.5 points, out of a possible 24, 8 points clear of their nearest rivals Zimbabwe.

103 rules enthusiasts, the highest number ever, have enrolled to participate in the prestigious two day R&A Rules of Golf School, to be held this weekend, commencing on Saturday 26 April, at Benoni Country Club.

After another successful day, winning all their matches, the South African amateur golf team are upbeat about their chances of winning their remaining eight games tomorrow and, for the first time in four years, walk way with the Zone VI Trophy having not dropped a point.
SA Team to play France Announced
Four players have been selected to play France in a test match to be played on the 2nd and 3rd of June at the Chantilly Golf Club, north of Paris, France, the South African Golf Association (SAGA) announced today. The Protea team is Derik Ferreira, Dylan Frittelli, Ryan Clarke and Jacques Blaauw. "These are arguably our top four performing amateurs currently," said SAGA President, Neale Kunhardt.
SA Win all first round matches
South Africa started there defence of the Zone VI title in the best possible way winning all eight singles matches in the first round played yesterday at Ndola Golf Club, in the Zambian copper belt situated in the northern part of the country.

Eight of South Africa's top amateur golfers will take on the best of Africa's amateur golfers in the African Zone VI, a team competition being played at Ndola Golf Club, Zambia from 22 to 24 April 2008.
Johnston holds on to win Cape Province Open
Cameron Johnston, a member of Milnerton and stalwart of the Western Province Inter-Provincial team, played superb golf over the weekend to lift the trophy at the Cape Province Amateur. With consistently good rounds of 69-69-68 (10 under par), he held onto the lead to claim the win, by 2 shots, from Johan de Beer of Pretoria.

Cream rises to the top at Cape Province Open
At the end of the 2nd round of the Cape Province Open a host of South Africa's top amateurs remain in the hunt.
Cameron Johnston and Johan de Beer moved into a tie for the lead on six under par, two shots ahead of Lyle Rowe who in turn is two shots in front of Johan du Buisson and Adrian Ford.

Kelapile takes the lead in George
Alpheus Kelapile opened with a 4 under par 68 at George Golf club to take a one shot lead into the second round of the 2008 Cape Province Open.
The first round of play was only completed early this morning due to slow play and fading light on the first day but this didnt hinder the top amateurs ability to post good scores.

Derik Ferreira becomes SA’s number 1 after another victory at the North West Open Stroke Play
Derik Ferreira continued to show that he deserves his 7th place ranking on the World Amateur Golf Rankings and the number 1 spot on the SA Rankings when he won the North West Amateur Open at Rustenburg Golf over the weekend. This was Derik's second successive tournament win after capturing the Northern Amateur a fortnight ago.
